The dome of the Pantheon, seen from the inside. The dome is 43 meters in diameter. The oculus is open to the air: there are drainage holes in the floor. It was built as a pagan temple around 125 AD, later consecrated as a Catholic church, and is still in use as such today - although constantly flooded by tourists.
