The entrance to Piazza San Marco. The dominant building is the San Marco Campanile, the tallest building in Venice. This is the clearest shot I have of the painting on the scaffolding on the Doge's Palace. We think they do this because raw scaffolding would be too unattractive in a town that relies so heavily on tourism. What they're showing here is a cut-through view to the courtyard of the Doge's Palace - which isn't what you'll see when the scaffolding comes down.
