"The Rape of Proserpina" by Bernini, at the Borghese Gallery in Rome (not my photo). The god Pluto has caught Proserpina and is triumphantly taking her back to the underworld with him. The contrast between their expressions is amazing: she's screaming and crying (you can see the tears rolling down her cheek, although perhaps not in these pictures), and he has an immense "look what I caught" grin on his face. The sculpture is probably most famous for the virtuosity of the carving: where Pluto grasps Proserpina, you can see his fingers digging into her flesh.
